Management Information systems provide information gathered from external and internal sources to assist management. They are usually presented in easy to read formarts. Management information systems are used to manage systems efficiently and effectively. These also support organisational management. These are three-resource systems, which are required for effective organization management. The system is a collection of information management methods involving software and hardware, and supports/improves the quality and efficiency of business operations. It is sometimes referred to as IT management. It assists in management at all levels of the organisation to control functions. They regularly produce summarised reports from internal information (sometimes external), which are communicated to managers at all levels. This then allows them to make effective decisions.
