Different levels of Tasks
Strategic :
They usually have low level detail and are mainly just an overview of what’s going on. These tasks are done most of the time by staff at the top of the organisation and are used to make long-term decisions(3 months+).
Examples of tasks at the strategic level of the company include:
1) Business Expansion
2) Acquiring other businesses
3) Decisions about new products
Tactical:
They need summaries and reports to make decisions, most of the time made by managers of departments. These reports usually have medium detail in them and are used to make medium-term decisions (weekly - 3 months).
Examples of tasks at the Tactical level of the company include:
Operational:
They deal with high level of detail and day-to-day transactions. These are usually used to make short-term decisions (daily). This does not necessarily mean the lowest level in the organisation or those in the operational level; it just has to be daily. Accounts are operational but the head of accounts would work at the tactical level
